TIME ON

in the last

From humble beginnings on country ovals to becoming one of Australia’s first full-time professional AFL footballers, Bruce Lindner’s life has been shaped by the game.

Looking past the glamour and mud of the AFL, this memoir reveals the pressures and stresses that accompanied that career-defining goal, the trials and tribulations of season-ending injuries, and the resilience that is needed to overcome them. Outwardly, we see only a glimpse of the person we admire beyond their talents, with little chance to understand who they really are and the demons within.

Filled with emotion, humour, and honesty, Time On in the Last is more than a sporting memoir. It is a love letter to friendship and a day-by-day account of facing life-and-death battles. Most of all, it is Bruce’s way of telling his story and experiences with his daughter, Sophie. These are the stories he wanted his daughter to know.

Time On in the Last is a raw and honest account of Bruce’s legacy as a father, footballer, and survivor, told through a collection of stories, memories, and humble reflections.
